TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, if you are holding a non-O retirement visa with multiple entries and plan to leave Thailand for a short trip, you will require COVID health insurance to re-enter. This insurance is mandatory unless you are Thai or hold a work permit. You must also provide proof of this insurance for the duration remaining on your extension of stay, which coincides with the expiration of your re-entry permit.

Yes.you need the insurance and must show proof of it for the time remaining on your extension to stay date in your passport...which also is the expiration date of the reentry permit in your passport.

has answered correctly. You will need to show proof of insurance to the date your reentry permit expires...which is also the ending date of your permitted extension of stay.

you meet the entry requirements in place when you come back AND you meet the requirements for the insurance for the OA visa/extension too

i don't think you read what I posted. you need to meet the entry requirements, 50K USD in covid insurance (if your current policy doesn't cover it, negative RT-PCR test 72 hours before you fly, approved Thai Pass, and then either test-n-go, or quarantine once you're here) AND you need to have the

Yes, the insurance is only not needed for Thais and foreigners with a work permit.

I only saw mention of work permit holders, because they have the government social security cover.

Logic would dictate that if you have the valid social security card, that would suffice, but hey, since when was logic applied here.

I saw it specifically mention work permit holders, no mention of those that piggy back their wife/husband's cover from government jobs.

@Lloyd *******
so if you are covered by the government social security for health you don't need separate private healthcare insurance right?
