Hi.

Can I leave Thailand and return with my current Non O visa with Retirement Extension. Will I be required to provide proof of Insurance Cover, despite the fact that the Non O Visa does not require insurance on extension. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can re-enter Thailand with your Non O visa that has a Retirement Extension without needing retirement insurance. However, COVID-19 insurance will be required, along with adherence to any current quarantine requirements. Additionally, ensure you obtain a re-entry permit before leaving, which costs either 1,000 baht for a single entry or 3,800 baht for multiple entries.

Just as an aside. If you are wanting to use your existing extension to re-enter Thailand you need to make sure you have a re-entry permit. Costs 1,000 baht for a single and 3,800 for multiple (if anyone does that these days ๐Ÿ˜€). Available at any immigration office or at BKK airport before you leave.

good to hear. Now if you have to leave / come back at least you get some benefit of the reentry permit.

Since we don't know what (if any) new requirements to enter Thailand will exist by the time you leave and return, I'm going to close comments. Good luck!

You will *NOT* need retirement insurance to enter Thailand, however you will need COVID-19 insurance, along with the quarantine requirements.
