Hi: I am coming back to Thailand where I hold a O visa (retirement) which expires December 29, 2022. I have health insurance which expires in September 2022. Questions:

1. Do I need to show proof of health insurance when I arrive?

2. If need to show insurance proof, will I be stamped in until December 29 when the visa expires or until September when the insurance expires?

3. If I am stamped in until September, do I just take my renewed policy to immigration in September to get extended to De ember 29?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about health insurance requirements and visa stamping upon returning to Thailand on a retirement O visa. Key points from responses include the need for mandatory COVID-19 insurance (minimum coverage of 20K USD) for entry, with some providing personal experiences confirming they were not asked for proof of insurance at passport control. It was noted that a reentry permit and Thailand Pass might be necessary depending on vaccination status.

The ONLY insurance you need to enter on a Non-O visa extension is the mandatory covid insurance (20K USD) that is an ENTRY requirement for everyone comin' into the country.

As people correctly said, get a minimum of 30 days of the 20K USD covid specific insurance and you'll get in fine.

when you enter, you'll get stamped in until your current extension expires.

that's good to know. Planning a trip back to UK in summer (right after my annual extension) and was assuming I'd need a full years insurance.

Do you have a REENTRY PERMIT in your passport?

And when you return you will need to have a Thailand Pass to fly and enter...and if fully vaccinated can use Test N Go.

I returned to Bangkok from Philippines on Saturday. I have retirement visa extension which expires in December and had reentry permit and 30 days covid insurance. At the Thaipass check station I had to show insurance certificate. At passport control they did not ask for insurance certificate. They stamped me in until December.

I've met quite a few with longstay non-O visas that came in with TP with only 30 days insurance
