What are the re-entry requirements for a Non-Immigrant O visa holder regarding health insurance in Thailand?

I am here for many years based on an actual 0 visa, getting yearly retirement extentions.

I have read recently that with a re-entry I would now need to produce proof of a "health insurance". Although I have an European health insurance, I do not necessarily want to get involved in any paperwork.

Anybody knows about "re-entry" based on "non-immi 0 extentions" ? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has been residing in Thailand for several years on a Non-Immigrant O visa with annual retirement extensions. They are inquiring about the current re-entry requirements, specifically related to health insurance, as recent information suggests proof of insurance may be necessary upon re-entering Thailand. A commenter clarifies that while traditionally no insurance is required for extensions, current entry regulations due to COVID-19 do mandate proof of health insurance coverage, specifically 100K USD in COVID insurance for re-entry.

okay your original O visa expired many many years ago and you've been getting yearly extensions of stays based on retirement at the immigration office. You are correct to get that yearly extension you do NOT need insurance

BUT

IF you're going to exit and re-enter thailand NOW (since this covid shit show started) you're going to meet the entry requirements to get back in (as does EVERYONE) and one of them is proof you have 100K US in Covid insurance.

, I would say so ๐Ÿ˜‚

The same embassy also requires an onward ticket for every visa, even the long term ones

you can't get a re-entry based extension :( You're on an extension now and if you are going to leave you buy a re-entry permit and leave the country. As long as you come back BEFORE that re-entry expires AND you meet the entry requirements in place at that time you'll get stamped in until your extension expires.
