Any form of volunteering needs a volunteer visa and work permit. Regardless that you’re not getting paid. Do they enforce this? Sporadically yes. Just like the helmet law.

not to my knowledge. I don’t think there’s a law for bicycles yet, but happy to be corrected if so.
