Just returned from Thai, 22. October 2026, Non O 1 year extension of stay.

Immigration sent me through the automatic counter (Australian passport). I asked, would it invalidate my Non O extension and my multiple entry?

The Imm officer said, no, on departure, no.

Upon your next arrival, insist to be processed by the manned counter.
Answer summary
The individual sought clarification from immigration officials about their Non O visa extension after utilizing the automated departure counter upon leaving Thailand. The officer assured that this would not invalidate the extension or multiple entry status. Additionally, comments from other users highlighted that using the automated gates for departure helps avoid passport exit stamps and confirmed that these gates are permitted for long-term visa holders. However, they noted that the automated entry gates are only for short-term visa exempt entries.

Using the automated gates for DEPARTURE saves space in one’s passport as no exit stamp is placed in the passport. As others have said….departure only for long term visa or holders of extensions of stay!

Correct If you are entering Thailand with a valid visa or extension with a re-entry permit you have to hard stamp in, you CANNOT use the eArrival (auto-in) gates, those are only for people entering the country on 30 day visa exempt entries You CAN use the eDeparture (auto-out) gates to leave though

and not every nation that gets 30 days visa exempt can use the entry eGates, just 33 of the 60 countries ;)

well aware that only 33 countries can use those gates for "free stamp" entry,

There was no need for me to say anything about it because I was telling people with valid visas and or extensions w/re-entry permits NOT to use the eArrival (auto-in) gates

Arrived this morning and an IO was waving me that way too. I just smiled and waved my American passport and shook my head no. He didn't press the issue. 🤣
