TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on the required documents to extend a Non-O visa for one year based on their spouse's education in Thailand. They currently hold a 90-day Non-O visa obtained from a Thai embassy abroad and wish to extend it while mentioning the complexities of different immigration offices. Community members suggest visiting the local immigration office and consulting with them directly, as requirements may vary by location. They advise that taking the spouse along may help clarify the situation.

Btw , to make things a bit more complicated else its not funny, my wife s college is in Samut Prakan so her ED visa is from Samut Prakan immigration. However we live in Bangna (bangkok province perimeter) so for exemple she reports her 90 days to CW office. Do you think my extension will be done at Samut Prakan office (where her visa is issued) or CW (where we live) ??

Hi
@Tod ********
, thanks for the feedbacks. Yes that s correct. My wife is on a yearly ED visa from a college here in Thailand. True we ll probably go there in person to check what s requiree

so just to be sure, you're asking for the requirements to get a year extension based on being married to a foreigner who is on an ED visa extension here?

Is your spouse studying at a university for a degree program?

If so the extension you're asking about is called "trailing spouse" where you "piggy back" onto the extension your foreign spouse gets here.

Definitely go out to your immigration office and ask for the hand out AND take your wife too so they can see her extension as well when you ask so there's no confusion about what you're wanting to do.

Good advice above but what I would add is be sure to ask the immigration you will work with directly. I have seen that the Jomtien office requires things that the Ubon office does not. Best advice possible is go in and ask them directly what they require.

Best to get the handout at CW. I've never been able to find them online and they change.
