TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder can obtain a visa on arrival for 30 days in Thailand. While the chances of being denied entry are low, especially for tourists, it's advised to have proof of an onward flight and a minimum cash amount of 20,000 Baht for entry. Concerns about denial may arise if there are past issues, but they are typically unfounded for most travelers.

Just make sure that you have proof of an onward flight within 30 days for your airline check in and the equivalent of
99% of people with no real entry “history” will ever be asked for this. If you have a history then certainly advisable to have that. Plus accommodation booked for a day or so. Called the “3 proofs”.
I know the risk is very low for most but why take the risk?

Denied entry to a country that is trying hard to bring tourists back? Unless you have something to hide, then it's highly unlikely.

Do you have a reason to be denied? Most people wouldn't ask this unless they think there's something in their past that would cause their entry to be denied.
Someone with a UK passport is eligible to enter visa exempt, receiving 30 days in Thailand without a visa. They can also apply for a 30 day extension at their local immigration office once they are in Thailand.
Normally this is all very easy and nothing to worry about.
