TLDR : Answer Summary
When retiring in Thailand, you can travel the country; however, your 90-day reporting is tied to the province where you initially registered your TM30 form. You can file the 90-day report online from anywhere after the initial report, but it must be done correctly. Using an agent can help manage these requirements, especially if you plan to move around often. Additionally, the process of managing your bank account remains straightforward, as you can typically use any branch for your needs.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
The first 90 day reporting has to be done by a person, I get my agent to do it the next can be done on line, when the visa is renewed every year the first 90 day reporting has to be done by a person.
After the initial 90 day report you can do the remainder online so it doesn't matter where you are. Always good to do your 90 day report when you are handed your extention stamp. Then it's online for the remainder. I almost got caught out on this once pre-online stuff.
I think you will find that when doing your extension Immigration automatically staple a new 90 report in the back of your passport, after that just do it Online. 😃
Based on what chatgpt replied, I wouldn't rely on visiting a different province immigration office. Might worth the "expense" of having an agent doing it for you
chatgbt is wrong on so many immigration questions and it's wrong on this one. You can only find a90 day report in the province where you're last tm30 was filled.
With the bank account, you don't need to move the account around. Any branch should be willing to provide the documents for visa extension purposes. You will be charged a fee for withdrawing money at a different atm if you use your bank card, but if you use the cardless withdrawal option on your phone app, it is free, regardless of where you are.
once being stopped at police road block I just show them my licence and pics of passport (biodata/visa page) on my phone no problems at all........although I do carry my passport when I travel to other provinces it was never needed when boarding a internal flight or checkin to hotel ...im sharing my experience not imagination
Can fly internally with Driving license, but I find they’re clamping down on checking into hotels using the driving license, I’ve found this on quite a few occasions recently where I never had issue before.
I think an example may be the driving license may not necessarily have your “current” passport number on it and instead your old PP number,
Looking to get a marriage visa but how do you deposit the required money into a Thai bank account when you cannot open an account until you have a visa
You apply from outside Thailand for a 90 day Non 0 visa showing funds for 3 months in your private overseas account for the last 3 months. Then when you get to Thailand you get a TM30 (Notification of Residence for Foreigners) and a Proof of residence for opening a bank account from Immigration and a Thai sim and you go to Kasikorn bank and open an account. Move the money to that account and leave it for 2 Months before applying for a 12 month extension.
I wrestled with this issue as well. Need an "O" visa to open a Thai bank account, need a Thai bank account to apply for "O" visa. But the good folks here explained that applying for the "O" visa in your home country before coming to Thailand solves the problem.
i went to the kasikorn bank with the wife & the lady directed me to do what i have said,on arrival to Back to Chiang -Rai present the nono & all will be sorted for you in 1hr or less so this is what was verbally & written info i recieved .
from information gathered you apply for visa nono then once there take the nono to open bank account then a few days b4 your visa needs to be extended apply at the local immigration for marriage visa 1,900 bht i think,if i am wrong can someone enlighten me also .
apply for the 90days nonO marriage visa while u are in your country using your home funds as proof....after arriving in thailand with your nonO open a thai bank acct and transfer funds to that acct as soon as possible as u need to season for 2mths before applying for your 1yr extensions
You need to get the correct visa before coming to Thailand, then you can open a bank account, deposit the funds and extend your stay in Thailand. Entering visa exempt and opening a bank account used to be possible, but the authorities have tightened up on this now, making it virtually impossible, without paying an agent to do everything for you.
money to be seasoned in Thailand bank for ,,2 months.. Cracking down on visa extentions now. One only 30 days Second seven. So be coming harder. Even with visa
not for overseas doesnt need to be in Thai bank. The way its actually supposed to work is you apply for Non O in home or overseas country this is for 90 day come here open bank account transfer money and when seasoned for two months apply for 1 year extension of stay.
The first one has to be done in person. If you are on an annual extension, that is OK, but if not, then every time you leave the country, it renews, and you have to do it in person again
Is the online reporting finally working throughout Thailand ? Last I heard, it was no. And that was only a few months ago and it still wasn’t working properly.
Presume the 90 day online is no use for those on a DTV as you would need to leave every 180 days effectively making the 90 day reporting the '1st' one since you were back in. (Unless you go through the drama of the 6 month extension which very few are).
The online 90 day report system works fine for me also. I have been doing it online for nearly 4 years. I did my most recent one this week, it takes about 5 minutes and I received confirmation it had been approved late in the same day.
, never failed me I have been reporting on-line for the past 5 years without any rejections, the only time I had to report in-person is when I leave Thailand and the first report in person.
You file your 90-day report where your TM30 is filed. So if you have a TM30 for where you are staying when your 90-day report is due, you can file it at that province's immigration office.
I've had some push back with that when I wanted to do the 90 day out of province in Chiang Rai. Had to be politely affirmative to get the IO to accept the printout of Hotel registration.
She at first wanted me to drive back to Chonburi for the 90 day report.
