TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about options for extending their Thai girlfriend's 6-month visa, which is set to expire soon while living in the UK. The majority of responses indicate that the tourist visa cannot be extended within the UK, and the girlfriend must return to Thailand before the expiry date to reapply for another visa. Options mentioned include applying for a longer-term tourist visa or considering marriage as a potential route to stay. There are also humorous and provocative comments suggesting alternative routes, reflecting the complexities of immigration and visa processes.

Better off getting a 2 year tourist visa next time

Yeah go to France 🇫🇷 get a dinghy back again

If she returns to Thailand for a couple of months she can reapply with i higher chance of success if she had come on a fiancé visa you could have extended thru marrying her but not on a tourist visa

Call Immigration and ask them

Now that's a good idea take her to France get on one of them small boats.. throw passport and everything into the sea. Then no visa will be needed and can stay here for ever without any issues
Simon **********

"OW" is not even a proper English word, more like geordie slang word, so why use something that isn't even in the dictionary???
ow is sometimes used as an indication of surprise, I believe it may be colloquial so you may have missed that one, Slighted is used to indicate somebody who may have been treated without the respect the believe they deserved
And possibly trying to advise the original commenter not to fall for the one girl
like I said it's colloquial And no I'm not going to explain that because I'm off to bed now It's 23;25 and in knackered an am gunna get me head doon for the neet
£5,000 for 2 years and 9 months, then do the process again with the same costs. Up to him.

No and make sure she leaves in correct date or may be not get again

Take her to a beach and tell the authorities she is an illegal immigrant from France , tell her to throw away her passport , she will be able to stay in the uk forever, most of Afghanistan and Syrians are using this tactic , it definitely works
there is no Rawanda plan, labour dismantled it to help with their social engineering experiments

The tourist visa is designed for a holiday like a couple of weeks, you have maxed it out. She will need to return to Thailand on the return ticket she will have needed to show the home office in order to get the tourist visa,
Why would you want to stay in the uk 🇬🇧 5555 Thailand is so much a better country now
Matt **********
Just go to Thailand with her if you think you will miss her. Thailand is way better anyways.

Buy her a dinghy and have a week end in France 😉

If she came to the UK at the start of her 1 year visit visa, I presume August she still has 6 months remaining on that visa so she can technically fly to another country and then re enter the Uk for another

months. If her 1 year visit visa ends in 3 weeks she must return and reapply
the Uk visit visas has an expiry date of one year from being issued. You can enter the country as many times as you like but can only stay a maximum of 6 months in any one visit.
The visit visa can also be issued for 2,5,10 years. You have the option to choose. But the same process as the 1 year visa you can only stay a maximum of 6 months each time you enter the Uk
unless it has changed, the standard visitor visa is valid for 6 months starting from the date you state on the application as to when you intend to travel to the UK. That was what it was around 3 years ago when I successfully applied for my partner's first visa

That’s crazy… so is it not true that you can be a stowaway and get government benefits in the UK? Visas are unnecessarily difficult, best of luck

Where does she live. 5 5 5

Your biggest problem is that you started out by playing an honest game. Now you’re stuck with it. Should have ferried her across the Channel in a dinghy. Just cost me £4 k.for a first extended spouse visa for 2.5 years. Going to cost a lot more in the future too. Best idea is to start off cheating and carry on. That seems to be the approved way??!? Weird
study, job, marriage - in my country it works as well for exceptional unpredictable situation

Isn’t it strange , a UK citizen with family tree going back to 1066 has to jump through hoops of fire to get her residence in the UK . Years ago when I was bringing my partner to the UK I found it strange that a European citizen resident in the UK could get his wife residence the day she arrived in the UK but me a UK citizen had to jump through the hoops for 3 years. I don’t even want to mention the “Boat people”
yes same happened to me and my wife cost a fortune as well. I paid £7000 for a immigration lawyer to take it through the court's and the day before court someone hand delivered a letter saying there decision was overturned.

She has to go back to Thailand and reapply again.
Or get a multiple year tourist visa. 2, 5 or 10 year.
On a tourist visa she can only stay 6 months in the UK, back to Thailand for 6 months and then back again.
my gf just went back today (after 6 mths) we have just applied for a 2 year tourist visa. Your comment suggests, a wait of 6 months before able to return, is this the case?

Ive had a look online and chatgbt, it appears theres no official rule on this, ill save this orig post of course and if this does appear to be the case ill comment and share the case
that's incorrect, there is no requirement to be outside of the UK for 6 months. My partner had a 2 year visa and the majority of those were spent in the UK with a max of 3 months out of the uk

No she has to go back to thailand , & start the u.k. visa process again. I think she can do a 1 ,2 ,5 or 10 year holiday visa to visit the u.k.
big difference between legal migrants and illegal migrants and I’m pretty sure the Thai government don’t put us top of there list above their nationals
