Who can give some information out there please....

I am a Filipina, and my German boyfriend and I are living together here in the Philippines. We want to know if we can extend our stay in Thailand for 6 months after we arrive there.

Or do we need to process it here in the Philippines, or can we do it in Thailand instead?

We hope you can provide a clear answer to our concerns. We highly appreciate your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, a Filipina living with her German boyfriend, inquired about the possibility of extending their stay in Thailand for 6 months upon arrival. The consensus from the comments is that they cannot obtain a visa while already in Thailand; they need to apply beforehand. Suggestions included applying at the Thai embassy in Manila and considering a multiple-entry tourist visa, which allows for 60-day stays per entry with the possibility of extending each entry by 30 days. To achieve a total stay of 6 months, they would need to leave the country at least once during this period.

Will your government allow you to leave the Philippines to stay in Thailand for 6 months?

What kind of Thai Visa will you have, as a Filipino, to enter Thailand?

What flight departing Thailand will you show your airline when you check in for your flight to Thailand?

AND on Arrival into Thailand?

If you are only wanting to do a total of 6 months you get 60 days on arrival, pay 1900 Bhat each for an additional 30 days. Leave the country by land for a day. Get another 60 days and then do another 30 day extension within Thailand.

a Philippines passport does not require any visa. You'll be stamped in automatically for 60 days. This is true of about 90 countries worldwide.

If you aren't married you will have to apply separately - means you will both need your own separate accounts with the equivalent of 500k THB each in them.

no, you can only extend once. Depending on where you are at you can then do a border run via an agency to get a fresh entry stamp in your passport to restart your clock.

In Pattaya for example a border run to Cambodia costs about 3500 baht per person and takes about 8 hours via a van.

Filipinos get stamped in for 60 days upon arrival without a visa and then you can extend for another 30 days for 1900 baht at Immigration.

then after extended the 30 days, can we extend for 30 days again and soon until 6 months?

Easiest option is the Tourist Visa Multiple Entry. Valid for 6 months and you receive 60 days on every entry. And an entry can be extended with 30 days at an immigration office (1,900 THB fee).

So in those 6 months you will need to leave the country at least one time and do a border run or make a city trip to a neighbouring country.

not sure if the Philippines have the E-visa yet or you still need to go to the Thai embassy. Check the official site of the Thai embassy to be sure.

You can't get a visa for Thailand when you are already in Thailand. You apply before you arrive.
