Can I use automatic exit gates from Thailand with a re-entry permit, and will I need a stamp for my passport during immigration?

Here on a 12 month retirement extension , returning to the UK for a short visit. I have a single re-entry permit already.

Do I use the ' automatic ' gates at the airport ? Or will I need to see an IO in person for a stamp in my passport ?
Answer summary
When using the exit gates at Thai airports, anyone with a valid re-entry permit, including those with a retirement extension, can utilize the automated gates without issue. However, upon re-entering Thailand, travelers will go through manual immigration and will receive a stamp in their passport. Concerns about needing an exit stamp for future immigration purposes have been discussed, but generally, using the automated exit gates does not negatively impact re-entry processes.

Thanks whenever I've travelled back to the UK I insist on getting it stamped at Bangkok Airport, "just in case" but will use the E gates on leaving Thailand in the future.

Everyone can use the automatic exit gates. Visa type, re-entry permit, etc, don't matter. All that is handled when you enter Thailand through a manual entry.

, thank you for your reply . I didn't word my question very well sorry.

I am thinking more about when I go for my next annual extension, will Immigration want to see a stamp in my passport ?

Because if I use the automatic gates I obviously won't have one.

I was wondering if anyone has had an experience of this ?

Mikkus A Relius I started using the automated exit gates a while ago. I’ve a non o extension of stay for years now. Using The auto gate saves room in my passport as no exit stamps used. Reentry no problem either. Now it’s just one stamp on entry and no stamp on exit !

Young The airlines give all this information to the country you are going to before you even arrive.

Dick Greene but if you fly to another country, how can they know when or from where you fly without exit stamp?? exit stamp is an information about from where or when you flied out. how another country can know this?

you can use the e-gates on exit. When you return you can't. You go through the normal immigration queues and get a stamp in your passport

EVERYONE can use the automated gates. It will not have any effect on you. Everything is settled up when you re-enter as long as you have the re-entry permit.
