Hello, I am planning to travel to Vietnam. I currently have a 90-day Non-O visa and I will return 15 days before the visa expires. I will also obtain a re-entry permit.

My question is whether it is better to apply for the one-year extension of stay before traveling or after I return, or if it does not matter. I am asking from a practical point of view, especially if someone has been in a similar situation. From a legal point of view, there should not be any issues.

[mention redacted] in case you use the bank deposit as the financial proof for the application to the extension of the stay permit, you need to time the date of application rather according to the deposit seasoning requirement than according to your return from a trip from abroad. And better don't leave it to the last minute in case some documents are missing or asked for  . . . . . BTW you still have not answered the question about on what reason the extension is supposed to get applied for . . as each reason requires different documentation

I've travel out of thailand during my initial 90days nonO with a single re entry permit.....does not matter as long as you are back and have enough time to do your 1yr extension
