Can I apply for a re-entry permit in Phuket if I have a Non-Immigrant 'O' visa with a retirement extension?

Hi All

Re-entry permit enquiry...

My situation is that I have a non-immi 'O' visa with one year retirement extension and no re-entry permit so far.

I now need to leave/return Thailand once, before my extension expires, and retain my current visa so I can extend again.

I got my last extension renewal at Jomtien, Chonburi.

I'm in Phuket now and want to stay south, flying out of the country from Samui in June. I see now that I probably should have applied for a re-entry permit at Jomtien before I left.

I just want to confirm that it's NOT possible to apply for a re-entry permit at Phuket immigration and that I need fly from Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi airport and apply there when I fly.

If so, are there any issues with doing that which have occurred recently?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a non-immi 'O' visa with a one-year retirement extension but has not yet applied for a re-entry permit. They need to leave Thailand before their extension expires and are inquiring whether they can apply for a re-entry permit at Phuket immigration or if they must do so at an airport. Community responses suggest attempting to visit the Phuket Immigration office for a permit, although there is uncertainty about the availability of re-entry permits at local immigration offices and airports. The user has indicated they will follow up on their inquiry.

all you can do is go to Phuket Immigration office with a TM30 showing you're registered as staying down there and see if they'll let you apply for a re-entry permit or not

I don't even know if they sell re-entry permits at the Samui airport, and I'd post on a Samui or southern island group and ask
@Stuart ********
do you know if someone can buy a re-entry at the phuket immigration office with a yearly extension from Jomtien ?
