I'm off to Chiang Mai Immigration tomorrow for my 90 Day Check-In. I am a U.S. citizen and have a Non-O Retirement (or so it says in my passport).
1. Is it too early to request a Re-Entry Permit at the same time for a trip I will be taking to Malaysia in January 2020?
1. Can you please confirm that my next 90 Day Check-In won't need to occur until 90 days after my return from Malaysia?
Many thanks,
Mark

TLDR : Answer Summary
Mark, a U.S. citizen, is preparing for his 90 Day Check-In at Chiang Mai Immigration and is inquiring about the timing for requesting a Re-Entry Permit for a trip to Malaysia and the subsequent 90 day reporting requirement after his return. The comments confirm that he can apply for the permit now and that his next check-in will occur 90 days after returning to Thailand, as the 90 days resets with departure.
