Good afternoon.
I am a U.S. citizen living in Chiang Mai on a Non-O visa based on retirement. I will (hopefully) fly from Chiang Mai to Seoul soon and will require a re-entry permit. Is it easy to obtain it at the Chiang Mai International Airport at around 11PM for my flight to Seoul or should I go to Chiang Mai Immigration and apply for it there?
If it is easy to obtain at the Chiang Mai International Airport -- what documents/pictures/THB do I need to bring with me? How long will it take? Where are the located?
Thank you, kind regards as always, Mark
TLDR : Answer Summary
A U.S. citizen on a Non-O visa in Chiang Mai is inquiring about the process of obtaining a re-entry permit for a flight to Seoul. They are considering whether to get it at the Chiang Mai International Airport at 11 PM or at the Chiang Mai Immigration office. Commenters advise that it is better to obtain the permit at Immigration, providing a list of required documents, which include an application form, passport photo, copies of relevant passport pages and stamps, and a fee of 1,000 THB.
