2nd extension of stay.

The 1st extension of stay from my non-O visa will expire on 1 May 2023. My next 90-day report is due on 26 February 2023.

I'm planning a trip out of Thailand from February to March. I'm in Chiang Mai and I have a UK passport.

What is the earliest date I could do the 90-day report and get the re-entry permit to leave in February?

Should I apply for my second extension of stay before or after the Songkran holiday when I return at the end of March / beginning of April?

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a UK passport on a NON-O visa in Chiang Mai, is seeking advice about their upcoming 90-day report due on February 26, 2023, while planning a trip out of Thailand from February to March. They want to know the earliest date to obtain the 90-day report and re-entry permit before leaving in February. Additionally, they are inquiring whether to apply for their second extension of stay before or after the Songkran holiday, which occurs at the end of March/beginning of April. It is suggested that they can purchase a re-entry permit any time before their current visa stamp expires on May 1, 2023, and they can apply for the second extension starting March 17, 2023.

If you leave the country BEFORE the 26th of Feb you won't DO a 90 day report and when you stamp back in your next 90 day report will be due 89 days from that date

You can go buy a re-entry permit when ever you want to, it'll be good until your current stamp runs out 1 May 2023..

The soonest you can apply for a new yearly extension in Chiang Mai is 45 days before your current stamp runs out. So 45 days before May 1st is any time AFTER March 17th 2023

Thanks for your fast response
@Tod ********
. I can now go ahead and finalise the dates for my trip. I will leave before the next 90-day is due probably on the 17th February. I plan to return to Chiang Mai on March 31st and start the application for my 2nd extension on 3rd April, before the Songkran holiday.

You need to decide when you want to do it, no one on here is gonna tell you whether you should do it before or after songkran, I told you the soonest you can apply for it and you have from that date right on up until the date your current stamp is expires to apply for your next year extension.

You aren't gonna lose any days going early as the year extension is added to your current expiration date (so no matter when you apply the expiration will be 1 May 2024)
