Apologies for asking this question; I'm sure it's been asked before, but a search of the group didn't yield anything. I have a non-resident O (retirement) visa renewing on January 17. How soon can I apply for renewal? Thanks very much..

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the renewal timing for a NON-O retirement visa expiring on January 17, and the community provided various insights. Most responses indicated that applications can typically be made 30 to 45 days prior to expiration, although there were claims of being able to apply up to 2 months in certain offices like Udon Thani. Overall, it's advisable to check with local immigration offices for specific policies.

Does anybody know how many days in advance for Koh Samui/Surat Thani province.

@Thekla ********
samui is 2 weeks or less for 30 day extensions and I think they're 30 days or less on long term ones

I was told 2 months in the Udon Thani office.

Not doubting what you were told
@Daniel *****
but AFAIK, there's no office that has 2 months before your current extension expires not even that renegade office in Udon has that ๐Ÿ˜›

they MIGHT be like several other offices and allow it when you have 45 days or less ๐Ÿ™‚

- The first time I wrote it down and copied his badge number, I was told the same thing on a subsequent visit by a different officer.

I didn't try to apply that early, but that is what they said.

Here are my notes of that day.

Can apply up to 2 months before extension expiration.

400,000 baht in bank 2 months prior to applying.

@Daniel *****
not doubting you were told that and the seasoning for the 400K banked money method is correct 2 months before you apply for the next yearly extension.

I believe you're in Hua Hin
@George *******
- it's 45 days here.

Agreed, I applied 4 weeks in advance due to holiday at time of renewal. No problem and date remains the same

Most offices allow 30 days before, and some 45 days.
