Can I receive my Non-O visa earlier than the appointment date if I need to travel?

Hello,

I have applied for a 1 year Non-O visa (based on marriage) at my local immigration. I’m currently on a “Stay Permit” until 05/06 (June).

I was hoping to be able to leave Thailand a week or so before this. Will I be able to go to my local immigration earlier than the date stated and get my full visa sticker/stamp applied to my passport ?

I would like the full visa before I travel so I can complete my ‘DeeMoney’ account to transfer money between Thailand and the U.K. for the next few months.

Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the possibility of receiving their Non-O visa (based on marriage) early, as they have a stay permit until early June but wish to travel shortly before that date. Responses indicate that typically the visa application must be processed on the specified date, but it might be possible to request an early processing if there is a compelling reason, such as proof of travel plans.

Which office?

Usually you have to go back on the day stated. However if you have a compelling reason and proof of flights etc you can ask the office to process it early. Not guarantee they do it but worth the ask.

Hopefully they can work something out. I’ll pop down next week and have a chat. Thank you.

The whole visa application process was a nightmare. Started in February.

Incompetence barely sums it up. I certainly won’t get my hopes up this time.

You applied for the one year extension of your type O visa based on Thai wife, and now you are on your 30 day under consideration stamp, with instructions to return on June 5th? You are aware that during this 30 day under consideration immigration can come and visit you where you listed you live to check if you are actually living with your wife? So no, they will not give you your yearly extension early. They will simply allow you to apply again when you return.

They’ve already been for the inspection 2-3 months ago.

They put me on a “Stay Permit” for 90 days.

They also wouldn’t start the visa process until the money had weathered for 4 months.

It’s been a slightly different experience than I’ve read from other people.

Thank you for your help.

then by all means go to the immigration, and ask them. If it is a justified reason they might give you an earlier date to come back, as it will take a few days to process, as if you are not dealing with the Chaeng Wattana immigration office in Bangkok, it will take a few days, as everything has to be finalized by the main immigration office at Chaeng Wattana immigration
