TLDR : Answer Summary
After leaving Thailand for 180 days, you can return almost immediately. Some users suggest that you can re-enter the country as soon as one hour after exiting, and others note that returning on the same day is also feasible, particularly through air travel. However, keep in mind that land entries may have a requirement for a minimum wait of one or two days between the exit and re-entry. Your 180-day count resets upon your return.
you have a visa you don't have to answer. They are just being annoying because so many foreigners are using it now and it pisses then off. It's a control thing for some officers
I don't know of any who have been questioned. I know about a dozen who got DTVs and entered in a breeze. One has since done two border bounces, and three others have done one bounce. No problems no questions
Can't change the conditions a visa was issued under. New visas yes, but the current DTVs allow border bouncing with no restrictions

180 days count is the last day you need to exit Thailand, you can return on day 181 and restart your next 180 days stay. Or anytime within 180 days you depart, and new 180 days reset on your return.
it's a problem seeking to cross POIPET BORDER CROSSING for foreigners.
Use another border crossing in Cambodia to enter Thailand.
Suggest you use an experienced border run service company to take you to the Thai border, cross and reenter Thailand the same day and return to your home city.
They know what you need to do and they have prearranged your reentry into Thailand.

You can just turn around and re enter immediately. Although be aware some land entries require minimum 1 or 2 days between exit and re entry. By air exit in the morning and re enter in the afternoon.
which border crossing? Because I have not seen anywhere charge this much.

Jonathan Dean Dunno the name but one they drive to from Pattaya/Jomtien. It must include the Cambodia Visa too. He was DIY but agents must get volume discount :-)
