90 days report:

Does sombody know what happen if I go abroad and coming back into Thailand between the times for 90 days reporting?

Is the time when I enter the Kingdom again a new start of a new 90 day report time?

Or is the old report time the one I need to bother about?

In the last case I need do report today. So if somebody knows how I be greatful to know.

Because on internet get both informations.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you hold a visa that requires 90-day reporting in Thailand and you leave the country, your 90-day reporting timeline resets upon your re-entry. You do not need to report while you are outside of Thailand. Your next 90-day report will be due 89 days from the date of your re-entry. It's important to confirm with local immigration offices, as procedures can vary by location.

In Chiang Rai you have to go to the office to report when you come back, check with your office they are not all on the same page

nope, not a problem at all, and you're right many offices require you to go back and file a TM30 when you come in from overseas ๐Ÿ™‚

that is NOT the 90 day reporting, that is something completely different (the TM30 <- notification of foreigner in residence form)

When you leave, the 90 days reset from the moment you re-enter.

When you re-enter, it is DAY ONE again.

Okay here's how it works for 90 day reporting

IF you are on a visa/extension where you do 90 day reporting and you are IN thailand when that 90 days comes due you report.

IF you are on a visa/extension where you do 90 day reporting and you are NOT in thailand when they 90 days comes due you do NOT report and your next 90 day report will be due 89 days from the date you stamp back IN to thailand

Does this mean when I leave the country every 4-6 weeks for a weekend vacation, I never have to do 90 day reporting? (eg being on a 1yr retirement extension).

I hope this isnโ€™t seen as thread hijacking but I feel itโ€™s relevant, If a new 12 month extension of stay has been stamped. Does the 90 day start from the stamp date or stay the same as before new stamp? TIA ๐Ÿ™

it varies. My immigration office usually aligns the two i.e the final 90 report is usually shortened to match the expiry of the extension stamp... Best to go by the bit of paper they staple in your passport (or the date on the receipt if you do online)

this is how you tell IF when you apply for your yearly extension they reset your 90 day report <- it is 100% fool proof and works for ALL immigration offices and all types of extensions ๐Ÿ™‚

You ask yourself;

When you applied for your new yearly extension did they give you a new 90 day report receipt?

If that answer is yes, and you were given a new 90 day report receipt they reset it and you follow that new receipt

If that answer is no, and you were not given a new 90 day report receipt, they did not reset it and you follow the report receipt you have in your passport now.

you will get a 2000baht fine when you go back and file your 90 day report (which you can do any time because the fine is 2000baht whether you're 8 days late or 8 months late)

you need to GO file a 90 day report and get the 2000baht fine for failure to file on time ๐Ÿ˜• It is what it is and it's far from the end of the world ๐Ÿ˜‰

which doesn't mean you didn't have to do it, just that it fell during that time. Visiting the office to apply for the extension and then again when you went back to get the extension inked in after the under consideration period didn't mean you didn't need to file a 90 day report

I think the 90 day report is your responsibility not the immigration officers.

If you did not exit Thailand and return, or get a new reporting date, the original due date on your 90 day reporting is the only valid date.
