TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a DTV visa and plan to leave Thailand on day 94 without reporting your stay to immigration, you are technically required to report your stay before leaving. However, many users in the comments suggest that enforcement is relaxed, and the airport may not check for compliance. If you fail to report, you could risk facing a fine when you return to Thailand, although some commenters believe that no fines will be imposed at the airport. It's also highlighted that you have a 7-day grace period to make the report after your due date.

Wow did not expect such hostile responses. Before you judge… I was told by an agent that she could take care of it for me (this was months ago, btw) then informed last minute that she can’t do it. My 90-days is up soon and because I work and go to school I can’t just take off to Krabi immigration for the day to do it myself - nor can I do it online. I was already going to leave the country on day 94 to visit friends. So, yeah, like another person said, spare me. I’m not looking for a loophole, I’m wondering if i’ll get fined at the airport or face other repercussions for leaving on my scheduled flight.

Anonymous participant please do not be upset when the people you ask try to give you good info. Best not to have issues with immigration. Your busy schedule is irrelevant.

Anonymous participant So you're working in Thailand on the DTV? You must be a very diligent student if you cannot explain to your school that you have an obligation to report to immigration to comply with the law once every three months.

It’s a U.S. firm, so I’d say that it’s quite out of their jurisdiction. I was merely asking a question. Good-faith compliance shouldn’t be treated the same as intentional disregard. Your ICE application is in the mail.

Yeah, I am a diligent student. I’m in law school and I (funnily enough) work for an immigration firm, wanna try it? I never stated that I didn’t want to or wasn’t going to report. I was thrown a curveball. I came to this group to make sure I handled this properly. If someone is actively asking how to follow the rules, treating them like they’re intentionally violating them makes no sense.

Anonymous participant So you're in the legal profession and you can't handle a little curveball, and you're working with an immigration firm that can't clue you in on 90-day report requirements. You spent more time jotting down excuses than you have developing an action plan. Quite the knowledgeable firm. You have one job, get down to immigration and do the 5 minute 90-day report task. Or hire somebody at your firm to do it for you. You have up to 7 days after your due date to comply.

Why don't you just leave before the 90 days? I don't know what's so complicated

You have to report that you stay 90 days or more.

airport does not check if you made the report.

Once you come back and visit an Immigration Office they can notice that you failed to report and fine you
