Hello, I have a question about a Thai marriage visa. I am American and married to a Thai National. Can I get a marriage visa if my wife and I make 40,000 baht a month combined from both of us? Or am I required to make 40,000 baht on my own?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for a Thai marriage visa (Non-O), you must demonstrate a personal income of at least 40,000 baht per month, which cannot be combined with your Thai spouse’s income. The income must be in your name, and you will need to pay Thai income tax on it. Additionally, if you are showing savings for a visa extension, such as 400,000 baht, it needs to be held in a Thai bank account for at least 2 months prior to your application.

What’s the deal with the 400k, you can take it out after you got your visa, does it need to go back in again every year when you do your 1 year reporting?
it doesn’t need to be shown at your 90 day reporting, but for an annual extension, yes, it needs to be there and “cooking” for at least 2 months prior to your extension application.
I just used to service to provide the funds for 10 minutes while I get my bankbook printed. I am not sure it will work out as I am still waiting on the visa (it's only been a few days).
You can work under a marriage extension, but the bt40,000+ a month must be earned by you only. It can not be combined income by you and your wife, and you must pay Thai income tax on it in your name only.
