Can anyone enlighten me on how the monthly income route works for marriage visa? Is it enough, if I simply have 50K+ coming to Thai account every month from abroad or do I need to prove the source of the money? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for a marriage visa in Thailand via the monthly income route, you need to demonstrate a continuous income of at least 50,000 THB per month. This income must be shown to come from an overseas source, as indicated in your bank statements and bank book. It's important that the income is not simply transferred from within Thailand, but originates from abroad.

The only proof needed, and this must show on your bank letters, and in your bank book, that the money came in to your account from overseas, not as deposits from inside Thailand.
I ask because if you're from a country whose consulate issues the "affidavit of income from abroad" notary document you have to use that as proof if you are using monthly income method
BUT
If you come from a country whose consulate doesn't issue the notary document anymore (US, UK and Australia) or never did issue it, IF you want to use monthly income method for proof of funds, you have to transfer IN to the country in a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 40K baht a month, each month every month for the preceding 12 months before you apply for your yearly extension.
