Marriage visa. Can I use my wifes income for my visa application? Her yearly income almost 400k. Can I also then just deposit the amount to make it 400k in total? I tried to google, but haven't found exact answers. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a marriage visa in Thailand, your financial proof must be under your name, not your wife's. While her income cannot be directly used for your visa application, if you choose the yearly extension of stay under marriage to a Thai national, you need to have ฿400,000 in a Thai bank account in your name for at least two months prior to applying. For a Non-O visa, while many embassies may not require proof of funds, applying inside Thailand necessitates having the funds directly attributed to your account.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

For getting a 90 day Non-O visa inside the country from the immigration office based on marriage using banked money you must show the money came from overseas, SO you'd have to go outside the country and get a 90 day Non-O visa at a thai consulate that doesn't require proof of funds.

For a yearly extension of stay from the immigration office based on marriage to a thai the money can come from anywhere BUT you need to have the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name for 2 months before you apply for the yearly extension of stay

Most embassys don't require you to show money for a non-immigrant O visa, based on marriage to a Thai national.

However, if you want to apply inside Thailand, and for subsequent extensions of stay,

you need a Thai bank account in YOUR name showing at least ฿400 000 OR a monthly income in your name of at least ฿40 000.

You can not use a combination of income and banked money for this type of visa/extension.

The Non-Immigrant Visa is typically issued for a period of up to 90 days unless the Consulate receives special instructions from the Immigration Bureau of Thailand. The Non-Immigrant Visa may be extended in Thailand by the Immigration Bureau of Thailand.

this is from Vancouver Thai Consulate..

For the purpose of visiting family in Thailand or visiting as a spouse of a Thai national:

The applicant must present a valid and effective marriage certificate and a copy of the spouse’s Thai Passport or Thai National I.D. card. Fiancés are not included in this category.

To visit as the relative of a Thai national, the applicant must show documents proving such a relationship.

For multiple entry: required document to proof monthly income minimum 40,000 Baht (for last two month) or Bank balance 400,000 Baht

...Are you married to a Thai?

...What is your nationality/passport nation?

...What kind of visa are you now on if you are in Thailand?

...If now in Thailand what is the Thai Immigration Office you report to?

Yasha Yakov as its nighttime in Thailand...you will most likely receive helpful replies Tuesday morning from two of our Admin team Tod Daniels and Robert Lagas ...both very knowledgeable of married to a Thai options.

For the visa obtained inside Thailand 400,000 Thai baht is required to be in a Thai bank in your name.

However there is a Non immigrant O one year Multi-entry visa ... Married to a Thai available thru the Savannakhet Laos Thai Embassy...with NO money required to be banked in Thailand.

Tod and Robert can share more information with you about that visa.

You can read TOPICS

list for Non O Married to Thai...and use search at top of forum page... Enter ...Non O married to Thai Savannakhet...

Posts will appear fyi.

You are applying for the visa, not your wife. The money must be in an account under your name.
