Some advice would be much appreciated Im 26 my wife is erly 30s and we have a young son. I thought I saw somewhere that if you make over 40k a month and its in a Thai bank for more then 3 consecutive months you could get a long stay visa? Is this still true or do you only have to have 400k in a Thai bank for marriage visa? Before I made just under that amount but now at work I make over it and I've been putting it in my thai bank would this make me able or not? Some point later in the year I'll have some funds and be able to do the 400k but not quite yet and as my son is only a couple months old I do not really want keep dragging him along to visa runs to Loas or leaving him behind while I go somewhere... Sorry for the long post hope someone can help enlighten me about how it all works.
TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Non-Imigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai national, you can meet the financial requirements through several options: 1. Having at least 400,000 THB in your bank account for 2 months prior to your application. 2. Providing an income affidavit proving a minimum monthly income of 40,000 THB from your embassy. 3. Depositing at least 40,000 THB per month into your Thai bank account for 12 months. 4. Showing a salary of at least 40,000 THB with proof of tax and social security payments for the last three months. If unable to meet these requirements, you may apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa at the Savannakhet consulate and will need to do border runs every 90 days.
