TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there is a Non-O visa available for those supporting Thai children, but it usually requires you to show sufficient funds, either a monthly income of 40,000 baht or 400,000 baht in savings for an extension of stay. While a 90-day Non-O visa can be obtained, one can apply for yearly extensions. The multi-entry option may be available through consulates in places like Penang, provided all necessary documentation and financial requirements are met. If married to the parent, a different visa type may apply.

As I understand it if you are married to the father/mother of the child then you must have a marriage visa; the guardian visa is only applicable if you aren't married or get divorced. I recall a post in this forum about that.

I see. Thank you for clearing that up. I misunderstood.

you are talking about an "extension of stay" that you get at the immigration office.
A person married to a thai who also had a child could apply for a Non-O visa at a thai consulate based on supporting that child with the correct documentation IF they wanted to.

If you have the funds and are the legal guardian then Penang will do (as has already been said) . I believe it is 500k in the bank.

is there no non o for 1 year .. like at savanakehet ?
, you could go to Savannakhet and get a year-long, mutli-entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai and then border bounce every 90 days rather than doing an extension of stay here.
, in Bangkok they don't do home visits for extensions of stays based on marriage ;) you apply for the extension, you get a 30 day under consideration stamp, and 30 days later you go back and get the year extension stamped into your passport.

ok thanks ... ill do the married one then in Bangkok. i feel very violated to have them at my house checking on me
, if you're asking is there a year-long, multi-entry Non-O you can get for raising kids here that doesn't require financials (like the married to a thai one in savannakhet) the answer is NO.
, said Penang is probably the only place you'd get one and even that requires financial proof.

Some consulates around the world might still do the multi based on a Thai child. The UK used to but not anymore. Most are single entry and then apply for a yearly extention of stay in Thailand.
Steve *******
No, only a multi entry based on marriage at savanakhet

I believe you have to get a 90 day in Savana, then extend for a year in LOS. I know someone who did it and it was not at all easy or quick (due to Thai Immigration)

You can get a 90 day Non-O and then apply for a yearly extension of stay based on supporting thai children and it requires 40K baht a month income or 400K baht in the bank to get that extension of stay

Yes, but you need to show funds. I know you can apply for one in Penang.
