Hello, my non immigrant type O based on a child has run out the other day, im in UK. It was a 90 day per entry/multiple entry for 1 year, can anybody confirm using the website for same visa we can only get 90 day single entry now? There is no drop down just states single, pretty sure the options changed now slightly, anybody experienced this and i guess best way to stay a year again with multiple entries as work overseas. TiA...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about their Non-Immigrant O visa's current status for multiple entries based on having a Thai child, noting changes in application options. Comments reveal that many consulates have shifted to a single-entry option and emphasize the need for financial documentation. Users suggest applying for a single entry, then extending it after arrival, while confirming that visas for Thai children have stringent requirements. The conversation highlights the growing complexity of visa rules for expatriates in Thailand.

Barry Murray . . there never was a one-year multi entry Non-Imm-O visa based on support for a half Thai child. you only could obtain a 90-days single entry visa type on the Thai embassy in your country for this reason. Immigration, though, would issue a multi entry 1-year Extension of Stay Permit (not a visa!) based on raising a half Thai child. That's what you had. You didn't have a "visa", you had an extended 1-year stay permit, for which you had bought a multi entry permit.

The eVisa site is less than accurate. They make no mention of financial requirements for tourist visa (Thai Embassy - US), but I am sure there are financial requirements. Maybe there isn't a financial requirement... Point I am trying to make is it may be worth sending an email to the relevant embassy and ask them directly.

yes, Savannakhet pulled the multi entry family Non-O from their list, only offer single entry and only WITH financial proof. Savannakhet was the last option to get a multi entry Non-O without proof of finances, sadly

That explains a lot, I was trying to get a multiple entry visa based off of marriage. I saw some said they pulled one of those from Laos, but I wasn't able to find that option on the eVisa site.

the requirements changed on November 1st. There is no more financial proof needed for tourist visa single and multi entry. And there is no more multi-entry visa type for Non-Imm-O family and retirement visa available any more. . . . . . . and there NEVER WAS a multi entry Non-Imm-O *visa* based on support of a half Thai child. Barry Murray didn't have a "visa", he had an extension of stay for which he had bought a multi entry permit. An extension of stay permit is NOT a visa

Not sure that any embassy/consulate issues a multiple entry Non O based on having a Thai child these days. You get the single entry, then extend for a year in country, by meeting the financial requirements.

in case you can't find it in the E-visa system, you might have taken a wrong turn at some point, a wrong choice. Scroll down the options carefully, you should be able to find it

@Barry *******
well, you were right. The multi entry option is still valid for applicants to the "Spouse or Family" Non-imm-O visa, in the e-visa System as described by the Royal Thai Embassy London

i know it was last year, on e-visa website marriage or family doesnt exist now, only option is stay with thai family over 60 days ... which auto states single entry. After doing some reading can use e-visa tourist multiple entry as many times as needed. Surely this will effect guys who normally do marriage multiple entry also

yep. LAST YEAR! However new rules have been imposed starting November 1st, 2023. For German applicants, that's for sure. Your last hope is - maybe it does not apply to U.K. applicants. Check - Non-Imm-O family - only single entry

You can repeat just the same - get the single entry Non-O "family" visa based on support of a half Thai child, and change it into a one year Extension of Stay inside Thailand

Here in Finland multiple is gone too. You need to call embassy and tell your β€œneed” and they consider your case. 15.000€ bank statement was new rule here. You just need to prove your need..
