Can I fly out of Thailand and back in the same day to obtain a new 30-day tourist visa?

Extended ours by 7 days only 2 weeks ago. Fee is 1900 baht.

I'm not sure why people get so hung up on Thai immigration using the word "alien". Here are two dictionary definitions that should make it clear that it's a perfectly appropriate term: "belonging to a foreign country or nation." & "a foreigner, especially one who is not a naturalized citizen of the country where they are living.".

These rules apply to the Alien giving himself up at immigration and are as follows :

Overstay more than 90 Days – 1 year ban from Thailand

Overstay more than 1 Year – 3 year ban from Thailand

Overstay more than 3 Years – 5 year ban from Thailand

Overstay more than 5 Years – 10 year ban from Thailand

Arrested & Found To Be On Overstay- Apprehended !

Overstay less than 1 Year – 5 year ban from Thailand

Overstay more than 1 Year – 10 year ban from Thailand

Although that's for aliens, it doesn't say what the rule is for human beings.

Yeah apparently if the police catch you in those four days it's a five year ban!!!
