Can I obtain another 30-day tourist visa for Thailand by exiting to Cambodia or Laos and re-entering?

Im in Thailand on a South African passport and ons a 30 day tourist I got on arrival at the airport.
I need to get another 30 day tourist visa. Can i just fly to Cambodia/Laos of the weekend and when I arrive back get another 30 day tourist visa at the airport?
Or do I need to apply for a tourist visa at a Thai embassy in one of these countries?

Leanne if you wish to stay longer than 60 days again might be a good idea to get a single entry tourist visa while your out of country. Can extend that again to give you 90 days.

Go to any immigration office inside Thailand 5 days before it ends and pay 1900 baht for a 30 day extension
