I am on a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa and my 3 months are nearly over so I have to leave Thailand and renew my stamp...
Do I have to stay away for a couple days/week or can I just leave Thailand and come back the next day? (which will be obviously a visa run)
When I entered Thailand at BKK Airport I got problems with the immigration, asking me a lot of questions how I can have enough money to stay here etc. The Immigration Officer told me in the end she only let me in cause of the METV and would have declined me with a normal TV (all my documents were on point) And after the first 2 Months I should leave Thailand for a couple of months before I come back! (I got my 30 day extension without any problems tho)
Before the METV I stayed 3 months home.
I need to get those 2 more months to prepare my Thai marriage documents etc. And am a bit scared that they don't let me in to marry π
Thanks guys πππ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the rules surrounding a visa run for their Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) as they approach the end of their 3-month stay in Thailand. They are curious if they can leave and return the same day or if they should stay out longer. Various responses indicate that it's possible to do a same-day border bounce to renew the visa stamp. However, there are cautionary notes regarding immigration scrutiny based on past entry experiences. Suggestions recommend using land border crossings for better results and include advice on the validity of the METV and potential stay extensions.
, you're on a 6 month METV, and you were questioned stamping into the country, BUT you go in, so let's get over that okay?
You need to bounce out and back in to activate a new entry on the tourist visa you hold. So you don't get questioned anymore you want to bounce out and back by LAND not by air.
You're in Bangkok, so get ahold of the visa run service SWD Transport and have them take you to the Phu Nam Ron border with burma one morning. They go there every day. You'll stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of burma then stamp right back into thailand to get a NEW 60 day entry stamp. When that runs down do it again. and then one last time just before the VISA itself expires. You should be able to get close to 9 months of stay out of that visa if you use it correctly.
here's the visa run company.

I'd be safe, and do a border bounce at a border that won't let you leave unless they can let you return, such as Htee Kee, Myanmar/ Phu Nam Ron, Kanchanburi

And you will still have two border bounces remaining with extensions if needed in 2020 π

if the valid until date on the METV is somewhere in Jan 2020 he can leave and come back as much as he want until that date and get 60 days of stay on each entry. If he just enter on the day before or on the last day he even get 60 days of stay and can if he get the Extension of Stay he is good to stay till April 2020

You don't have to spend any particular time outside Thailand, you can come back immediately. You would be better off doing the METV bounce at a cooperative land border such as into Laos or Myanmar. Don't fly out and back into Bangkok.

No one hereβs going to be able to predict what an immigration officer is going to say to you. If they donβt like your past history of entries they may question you or even deny entry. Itβs up to them.

You can do an Out/In in the same day...or you can stay out for a minication or longer, up to you...
