Hi,

My NoN Imm O visa based on Thai wife will be coming up for renewal on the 28th July 2018 (6 RENEWAL) I have just realized that the 400,000 in the bank would have only been in the bank for 2 and a half months. But am I right in thinking as I have two children with my wife there is no seasoning on the money in the bank. Thanks'

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking clarification regarding the seasoning requirement for their NoN Imm O visa renewal, particularly since they have funds in the bank for only 2.5 months. Other commenters confirm that there is no seasoning requirement for individuals with Thai children, which alleviates the poster's concerns. The discussion also touches on the nature of renewing a visa versus applying for an extension of stay, and clarifies that extensions are based on marriage and that the seasoning period for these extensions is typically two months.

I have been doing an extension due to marriage for11 years aside from the huge amount of paperwork year after year and the interview wiyh my wife ,year after year ,the only other thing is the matured

am i correct in thinking u are saying : u only need to extend said "non -o " visa every year continuosly only for 1900 baht ? as in can get a yearly extension numerous times over and over .based.on the oringinal non o visa ? I was under the impression u had to re- apply for a Non-o every year once extension was finished. Then do the whole shebang all over again.

Any idea where I would need to go to apply for extensions once I start living in Rayong.

Yep, same for me. My original 90 day single entry Non-O I got in January 2009 (just a month before I turned 50) and I've gotten yearly extensions for the last 9 years now. :)

You can apply year after year for Extension of Stay as long as you meet the requirements.

Just did my yearly extension. Easy. Though this time they asked to see my work permit, which I don't remember them doing in the past.

Thanks for that.

you are correct though about the fact there is NO seasoning of funds for raising thai children (y)

Also if you're every short on the seasoning, you could always get a 60 day visit thai family extension (which doesn't require any proof of funds) for 1900baht and let your money season until you can go for the marriage extension

Marriage extensions are two months no matter how many you've had in a row. :)
Tod *********
Just for clarity you don't have ANY valid Non-O visa anymore it expired a LONG time ago.

You're on yearly extensions of stays based on marriage from the immigration office ;)

thanks

I see.

@Lu**
There is indeed.

The Non-O based on marriage is sold two ways,

90 day single entry which is good for 90 days and year-long, multi-entry which is good for 90 days before you leave the country to get another 90 day stamp.

IF you go to the immigration office once a year and pay 1900baht you are applying for an extension of stay. You are NOT renewing a non-o visa :/ Visas and even extensions expire, what you're doing is applying for a new extension every year.
Luke ************
? So there’s no such thing as a Non O based on marriage visa anymore?
Tod *********
The seasoning requirement for yearly extensions of stays based on marriage are 2 months

The only types of extensions that change seasoning requirements are the one based on being over 50 (retirement) and it goes from 60 days the first year to 3 months for every year after that and the one based on raising 100% foreign kids here which goes from 30 days the first year to 3 months for every year after that
