Hi everyone,

Ive recieved some brilliant advice here....i was wondering if anyone can help with this query.

Concerning the 400k baht in Thai bank account when applying for extension based on marriage with non imm O visa.

I have my kasikorn bank book in uk with me , as its a fixed deposit account i cant send money from uk , ive not used account for 2 yrs , theres about 10k baht in it , but i can send to my wifes account and then send my bank book to her and she can deposit funds...Kasikorn say they will allow wife to deposit not withdraw....

OR, if i arrived on my non imm O and put the money in account next day when i report to local immigration would that cover the money in bank for two months problem....

I realise its to be in bank for min 2 months , but having to apply for 1yr extension 30 days before end of visa am i cutting it to short ?

Theres no trust issue with sending money to the Mrs just bank costs and the inconvenience of sending bank book.

Hope im making sense , any advice really appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirements for maintaining a minimum of 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account when applying for a one-year extension based on marriage with a non-immigrant O visa. The author seeks advice on whether transferring funds from their fixed deposit account in the UK to their wife's account in Thailand is a viable option, given bank policies, and asks if depositing the funds upon arrival would suffice for meeting the two-month requirement prior to the application.
