Hi, If I enter Thailand on the 45 day exemption can I extend twice for 30 days each time without leaving? Or do I need to extend once, leave, then come back in on another 45 day exemption? I'm on a NZ passport.
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A visa exemption for Thailand can only be extended once for an additional 30 days. After this extension, to gain further time in Thailand, you would need to leave the country and re-enter, which would grant you another 45-day exemption. However, there is currently some discussion about potentially extending the 45-day exemption rules, but no official announcements have been made.

Working on todays date and the 45 finishing on march 31st you will not get 2 entries of 45 plus the 30 day extension, there is talk of them extending the 45 days past march 31st but nothing official yet.
So if I enter on 3rd march I get 45 days, extend for 30. Then I can leave and come back in on a 30 day exemption? I kind of booked flights forgetting about the visa situation 🤦♀️
As a general rule, a visa can only get extended once with the same kind of extension. The exception to this rule is the periodic extensions. i.e. annual extensions etc. In this respect a visa exemption is also a "visa"...
