Greetings all,

I will be on a Thailand trip for 45 days (visa exemption) but I would love to extend, if this is possible how long is the longest period I can extend for and how many times can I extend in total?

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your visa exempt entry of 45 days in Thailand once for an additional 30 days, allowing for a maximum stay of 75 days. During this time, it's advisable to explore available visa options for longer stays. Note that work is not permitted under a visa exempt entry. Given the current COVID-19 situation, travel to Thailand may be restricted, and it's essential to consider your reasons for visiting.

You can only extend your visa exempt entry of 45 days into Thailand once for added 30 days = 75 days max stay in Thailand.

At that time look over available visas to stay.

You cannot work while on a visa exempt entry or its extension.

Reality is now is not a good time to come to Thailand with the COVID situation getting serious. Travel inside Thailand is discouraged with added restrictions as one travels to provinces. Business is essentially closed.

Unless you have family or loved ones here you may wish to reconsider your trip.

Hopefully later this year in October or so we will see Thailand reopening.

Take care.. Stay safe.
