Hi there! I am going to be applying for the DTV in the US - NY Thai embassy. 2 questions:
1) My passport expires in 9 months. I noticed on the Thai E-visa site it says for multiple entry visa you need atleast a year. Does anyone have experience with getting approved with less than one year?
2) If I provide my work offer letter and a statement of employment (that shows salary and remote work)- will that be enough? Do they contact your employer?
Thanks so much for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a Thai Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) with a passport that expires in 9 months, noting the requirement for a minimum of one year on the Thai E-visa site. They also ask if providing a work offer letter and employment statement indicating salary and remote work will be sufficient for application, and whether their employer will be contacted. Responses advise renewing the passport for better chances of approval, with some confirming success in obtaining visas with less than a year on the passport, while others suggest including a clear statement about the ability to work remotely in Thailand.
Well, considering many countries and many airlines, but not Thai immigration, require a passport valid for at least 6 months, the easiest thing to do is renew your passport.
If it is a U.S. passport, then U.S. passport processing times have come way down and are much faster nowadays
1, Some embassies have approved DTV with passports expiring within a year. It is embassy specific with approval though. You have to contact NY office to see if they will approve it. 2. Very unlikely your employer is contacted. Make sure a statement that you can work remotely in Thailand is included in your letter/contract.
