Hi everyone, I’m planning to apply for the DTV Destination Thailand Visa, which lasts for 5 years. However, my passport is expiring in March 2026, so it doesn’t cover the full duration of the visa. Will this cause my application to be rejected? Should I renew my passport before applying, or can I use my old visa with the new passport if I renew it later? Any advice from those who’ve been in a similar situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about potential issues with applying for a DTV Destination Thailand Visa due to their passport expiring before the visa duration ends. Comments indicate that it is possible to apply with the current passport and later transfer the visa to a new passport once renewed. It is advised to keep the current passport until renewal, as traveling with less than 6 months validity left on the passport is not permitted.
In Thailand. It’s a Thai Visa in my passport. There are immigration offices in many provinces of Thailand. So I would go to the one closest to where I live, in Thailand.
You can keep your passport as is. When you do renew you can go to Immigration to have everything transferred to your new passport. I paid an agent 2000b to do it for me.
Just remember that you can’t travel if you have less than 6 mths remaining on your Passport.
