Hi everyone, I am planning to apply for DTV at Laos, have some questions if you could help

Can you still apply for DTV visa if you passport expires on February 2029?

And is it necessary to have 500k remaining balance in every latest 6 months? Or is it fine to have only as last balance?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on applying for a DTV visa in Laos with a passport valid until February 2029, and questions about maintaining a financial balance of 500,000 THB over the last six months versus just showing the latest balance. Comments suggest that while the passport is acceptable, concerns about bank statement requirements vary by location, with some indicating the need to show funds consistently over six months.

Kuala Lumpur has same financial requirement and has the additional request of 180 days of booked accomodation in Thailand. Not recommended

what the financial requirement regarding to my question on the post? 180 days of accommodation should be solved by renting long term apartment

Anonymous participant The financial requirement of 6 months of the 500k in your account.

Does anyone applied in Kuala Lumpur? How was the experience?

Anonymous participant I’d suggest deleting and making a new group post asking about Kuala Lumpur if Laos is out. More likely to get your answer.

Your passport is fine.. your bank statements are not, this is the reason I’m flying to Taipei even through I’m very close to Vientiane in Udon.

People on this group suggest Vientiane require it to be in the account the entire 6 months, where as Taipei, people are suggesting it just needs to be the final balance only.

One post stated Vientiane are starting to ask people to open their banking app to confirm too (assuming people are forging things.)

I was told by Vientiane the money needs to be banked for 3 months. Savannakhet is possibly 6 months; not quite sure. In any case, they're quite strict and best to use Taipei instead.

yes I’ve read both 3 or 6 months on the group but I’m not risking going to be Laos now. An appointment wouldn’t be till 17 October too..

I’ll go to Taipei next week due to the no appointment and less stress around the bank statements.

Ditto. I had an appointment for Laos for next week, but have canceled it and am going to Taipei instead. Otherwise, I'd need to wait until at least late November to go to Vientiane and there are also concerns about whether they require translated documents to be notarized, which further complicates matters.
