What is the process for renewing my visa when I get a new passport in Thailand?

Applied in Sydney on 25th of Aug. Asked for proof of remote work on 27th and approved today. Cost was $600 AUD.

Pretty fast process and no other real drama.

Provided driver’s license for proof of address, work contract and certificate from my employer that I am still employed. Also additionally I had to provide a certificate from my employer stating that I can work remote. For available funds, 6mths of bank statement was enough and no questions were raised. (Often my balance drops below 550k baht but recent balance was over)

Let’s all hope that this visa works as advertised and is as easy to renew/reenter as reported.

Side note. My passport needs to be renewed sometime late next year. I suppose I need to either travel with both passports or there is a way to have this visa transferred to new passport. Anyone have experience with this? (Not DTV obviously but with other visa types - you think you have to resubmit docs?)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their experience of obtaining a remote work visa from Sydney, including the required documentation, costs, and application process, which was fairly smooth and quick. They inquired about transferring their visa to a new passport due to an upcoming renewal, mentioning a side note about potentially needing to travel with both passports. A commenter noted that in their experience, they simply handed over both old and new passports to have the visa updated without submitting additional documentation.

When I have renewed passport with visa just had to hand over the old & new passports and they updated their system and stamped visa in new passport. No need to submit the docs I did for initial visa.

Thanks Greg. Good to know. They do this at the immigration at airport? Or do I need to visit immigration separately?

Anonymous participant You would go to your local immigration office where you are registered ie TM30 and when you complete your 90 day reporting (If you need to do it)
