Anybody recently applied and got approved for DTV while in Vietnam, through the e-visa portal? Particularly for a remote work visa.

Have some questions as i am thinking about applying myself. I've tried googling the answers but couldn't find anything concrete. Could use some help before i pay the non-refundable fee and then get rejected.

1. How old was the bank statement that you used for the showing of the equivelant of 500.000 baht? I have one from August where it shows 15.000 euros, if I print one out now, i would be a bit short (12.700 euros currently in my account).

2. I have my employment contract, however, it doesn't specifically state that i can work remotely. That is an agreement between my employer and myself. Would i need an additional letter stating the approval to work remotely?

3. I wanted to include my payslips when uploading for the financial requirements, but it seems that you can only upload 1 document, is there a way around that, or do you get the option to upload additional supporting documents later in the workflow? (I haven't gone passed the uploading files screen).

Any information would be much appreciated. I am currently in Vung Tau, else i would go to the consulate general in Ho Chi Minh City myself.

Thanks for taking your time in reading this.

When I applied this week in Vietnam, I submitted two sets - set for the current month (Oct 17) and September month-end statement. I included September month-end to prove historical link to the Oct 17. Also, the September would have the more official format - full Bank Name, address, account number etc. In both of these statements I made a summary of the balances and the equivalent in Baht. This would make it easier for them to check the math. Also I only did a screenshots and combine them in 1 pdf as the e-visa system has a file limit for every upload.

thank you for your response. I have 2 sets as well, for the month of october, and a set from may until october to show spending pattern. Did you have to get any documents (work contract or letter from employer) notarized?

If I were you I would at least have a recent bank statement with at least 15.000 euro to be safe, to prevent problems because of exchange rates.

I also would ask your employer to write a letter (on company paper) that tells your function can be done remotely. In my case in Netherlands they asked for such a letter.

There are online free tools to combine multiple PDF's to one.

thanks for replying. Did you also upload your contract? Was it in english or did you have to get it translated? Also, did you have to notorize any documents?

My contract was in Dutch, they did not ask for translation.

An August bank statement will not be accepted.

thanks for the info. I will wait until my payslip gets deposited next week and download a statement then.

The eVisa system in Vietnam only went live about 10 days ago so your chances of finding someone with DTV approval is very slim
