TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their Multi-Entry Non-O visa, which is expiring mid-August, and whether they can still pay for a 60-day extension at local immigration despite their last entry stamp having expired at the end of May. Commenters suggest considering amnesty, applying for an annual extension based on marriage to a Thai national, or attempting to extend their stay based on documentation.

Let's gather all the info we can about this... I think I'll go with my wife to immigration and ask some questions tomorrow... They'll of course ask us to pay right away but hopefully questions will be answered "officially " & we can proceed from there.

Each immigration office may have their own requirements, but please report back what your local immigration office says. Remember too there may be new rules or regulations that will exist by the time the amnesty is over.

David Mariño Mendez I think his recommendation was yes, wait until the end of July, then apply for the extension... amnesty *should* prevent overstay fines.

I see, thanks again. I think that was an option in the past, everything changes!... Do you know offhand if it's still ok to go to my local (Samut Prakan) office?

Sure. You have to get that extension of stay at the immigration office in your region. Each immigration office has some minor differences in the requirements, but generally they need:

1. The application form (you can get that at the office)

2. The marriage certificate and a front and back copy of the certificate.

3. Your wife's ID card, and a front and back copy of the ID card.

4. Your passport, and a copy of the data page of the passport (the one with the picture), the visa, and the most recent entry stamp,

5. 2 passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB

7. Your wife physically present.

But different immigration offices have different requirements, so ask and make sure.

Thank you sir! Looking for options along with too many others, feeling dumb I didn't remember doing this in the past! If it's permitted, I would absolutely wait until end of July.

I just re-read your post, and after you get the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family, you can *NOT* get another 30 day extension of stay on top of that. It will cost 1,900 THB for the 60 day extension of stay.

@Benjamin *****
can you get a one year extension of stay after the 60 day extension, if you meet the requirements?
Benjamin ******
@John *********
Yes you can, to my knowledge.

Since your stamp expired in May, and we're in June now, I see no reason why you should purchase a 60 day extension of stay based on family now. *IF* anything, I recommend hanging on until amnesty is almost over, and then try to purchase an extension of stay based on visiting family to maximize your time here.

@Benjamin *****
. Isn't the 69 day extension of stay backdated to the original stamped in until date? Or does it go from the end of the amnesty?
Benjamin ******
If the visa expires in mid August, I recommend going on amnesty. You'll be able to stay no later then July 31, 2020. Once the borders re-open, bounce in an out for another 90 day stamp.
