I am on the non O multiple entry based on marriage from Thai consulate in Laos.

On amnesty now, I can get the 60 day extension to visit wife/kids in Buriram immigration?

Can he apply for the one month extension first before the two month extension effectively giving him 3 months and more time to get the funds together?

no, he can only apply for the two month extension of stay

Note if you plan on applying for a 1 year extension of stay later make sure you transfer the 400K Baht into you bank account before applying for the 60 day extension. The money needs to be in you account for more than 2 months when you apply for the yearly extension.
