At Samut Prakan immigration this morning, valid multi entry non O w/ expired entry stamp. Seeking 60 day extension (starting Sep 26?) & was told at reception wouldn't be possible but go in and "see if they can help." According to my wife's translation, the officer said yes, she would give the extension but we would be "losing days" overlapping the amnesty. Her advice was to wait. She couldn't promise but maybe the amnesty would be extended again? If not, come back in mid-late September. We thanked her for her time and left. Just sharing our experience for anyone in a similar situation.

By chance, did you show them the attached flyer (or do they have it in the office)? If the read the red highlighted section, it says "come early to prevent overcrowding"

That's just me avoiding disappointment. ๐Ÿ˜† I should emphasise i wasn't denied. She simply advised us to wait.

I didn't. I went in almost expecting to be denied the extension anyway. I did come back and re-read it, though just to confirm some sanity.

Why would you expect to be denied the extension of stay? If you're legally married, and did not already get the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family, you'll get it.

I believe the officer truly wanted to help us. There's a lack of clarity about the new rules. Seems as with other issues, it may differ from office(r) to office(r).

Thanx for the update though :(

Strange answer from them because it clearly states that ANY extension issued during this amnesty would be dated as starting from the 27th of Sept no matter when you applied for it during this amnesty

We were also following suggestions to go sooner rather than later. After yesterday, I don't think it's been considered (at least not in Samut Prakan.)
