Good morning, I have a Non O ME Visa based on Thai Wife (obtained in Laos, Savanakhet) and my 1st leg (1 out of 4) will expire on the 31st of May 2020. Reading this page, I tend to go to CW and ask for a 60 days extension for visiting family and not rely on the visa amnesty till the 31st of July. Is it a good solution ? Can somebody tell me exactly what paperwork I need to prepare or direct me to somewhere I can find this information ? Thanks a lot. Have a good day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on applying for a 60-day extension for their Non-O ME visa, which is based on marriage to a Thai national, instead of relying on the ongoing visa amnesty until July 31, 2020. Commenters provided insights on the necessary paperwork for the extension, including the need for a Thai spouse, fees, passport photos, marriage certificates, and personal identification documents. They also discussed the implications of the amnesty and potential risks of waiting too long.

Personally I'd stick with the amnesty and use the 60 day extension when needed. You can only get one 60 day extension per visa (sticker) and should they open the borders with little notice of the amnesty being rescinded but have stringent rules for anybody entering Thailand (is insurance , health certificates , etc) you may be stuck for time. If they make an announcement that amnesty is due to end early , you could get the 60 days extension at your local IO that day if required (as long as you have necessary paperwork)
I went to CW this morning and asked all the questions to the immigration officer. This is what the officer told me (as usual subject to interpretation): In my case, my Non-O visa ME based on being married to a Thai, valid till the 1st of March 2021 but first 90 days expiring on the 31st of May 2020 (I normally have to leave the country and come back to activate 90 days again - can be done in normal time, but will be difficult to re enter Thailand when the borders are open) is covered by the Amnesty till the 31st of July 2020. If they change the Amnesty in the future and before the 31st of July, I can come back to CW and they will accept my application for a 60 days extension based on visiting my Thai family. Have a good day.
Some immigration offices do it per stamp, others do it per sticker.

The problem is, can you get an extension of stay based on anything if you're on amnesty? I'm assuming No, because normally you'd be in Thailand illegally if you weren't on the amnesty.
Good afternoon Benjamin, I am planning to go apply tomorrow, do I need proof of income and pictures taken in the house also or not necessary for this type 0f extension ? Thanks for your help.
