Non-O based on marriage to a Thai expires Mar. 3, 2021 - last 90-day entry ended June 3. I was hoping to do a 60 day visit Thai family extension immediately before the visa expires. If I do that extension now will I also be able to do it again next year?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is looking to extend their Non-O visa (based on marriage to a Thai) with a 60-day family visit extension before their visa expires. The discussion suggests that the ability to extend the visa depends on the immigration office, as it's determined whether one can avail of the extension once per entry or once per visa. If an extension is applied for now, it might affect future eligibility based on the specific rules of the immigration office.

as i said, you either can get it once per entry (every 90 day entry) on that visa OR once per visa (on only one 90 day entry) and it's totally up to the immigration office as far as what they do.

I don't know what Chiang Mai office does (and if that is the office you use post in the C/M related fb groups and you'll get good answers)

Thanks much. I have a friend going to Chiang Mai immigration tomorrow for the same extension and will ask him to inquire what they will allow.

Totally up to the immigration office you use. SOME allow you to get a 60 day visit family extension once per ENTRY on that non-O visa BUT some allow it only once per VISA <- meaning if they do that and you used it now you couldn't use it again on a 90 day entry until you went and bought a new visa.

Totally up to the office you use

the VISA is not what lets you stay IN thailand :O It's the blue entry stamp for 90 days that lets you stay here

ANd right now you are on amnesty since the 3 of June, SO as long as you go BEFORE amnesty expires (july 31st) you can apply for a 60 day visit thai famliy extension

Sorry - I understand that - my question must not have been very clear. I was asking about the ability to get multiple 60 day extensions on the same visa.
