Can I apply for a Thailand DTV from Vietnam instead of returning to Australia?

Hi All, I am in Thailand on 60 day Visa at the moment.  I am heading to Vietnam in December/January.  I was going to apply for my DTV there rather than going back to Aus. I was wanting to know if there was anyone in a similar situation to mine that can share their experience? 

I don't want to go all the way back to Aus to do paperwork if I can avoid it.

If your documentation originates from Australia, you got much better chances of getting them approved, by applying in Australia.

Australian Passport here and applied in HCMC 14th October. Still waiting on Pending Approval (so its been about 10 Business Days so far). Been a few public holidays in this time so just be mindful of that when you are applying as it can take longer then you think

I’m a U.S. citizen but I had thought of either going back to Aus (where I have a long-term Visa and had previously lived) or the States but I did want to go to either.
