Has anyone been approved for DTV after just spending a long time in thailand? I have done 2 border runs this year, I am now back in London looking to apply for the DTV.

You must meet the requirements of the visa you apply for,

What you did in the past does not count

Yup, used to stay 6 to 8 months per year in thailand with exemptions and tourist visas. No issue to get DTV.
