Will I face problems returning to Thailand with a DTV after a border run while on a tourist visa?

Question, I applied for DTV online at the Thai embassy in Washington DC from Thailand. It was issued within days, so easy. I’m still in Thailand on a tourist visa. I want to do a land border run and come back a day later. I won’t have any problems right? I have the issued visa printed page.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual inquired about the potential issues of doing a land border run after applying for and receiving a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while still in Thailand on a tourist visa. Responses varied, with some advising caution due to the possibility that immigration might check the visa application dates against the individual's stay in Thailand. Others shared personal experiences of having similar situations without issues, while some expressed disapproval of the method used to obtain the visa.

Hopefully Ben from Integrity Legal isn't monitoring this public group. The DTV is costing him money and he'd love to get Immigration to start checking for this.

You know, there are dozens of commercial thai visa offices doing this exact same thing (even right in the official office buildings where you go for visa extensions etc). If this is costing anyone money, now is a bit late to notice it...

Yeah it's all fun and games until they crackdown on it like the volunteer visa.

The rule is there is no rules. Losers like you get hung up on what other people do so much that you do absolutely nothing in life.

Anonymous participant 805 Ah, don't worry. The visa can be revoked at any time within the 5 years if cross-checked and it's found that he/she lied on the application. Hope this adds some pressure 😂

Yeah? What are you basing your assumptions on? What you forgot to mention is that the DTV is issued by the MFA, while immigration could be the ones catching you. Trust me, immigration doesn’t care about their colleagues losing face when milking you when the right time will come 😂.

You sound like a real life loser, to purport such hatred to someone who have no hurt anyone because I applied for something from a certain location shows just how much of donkey you’re. Why do we even have to live Thailand to apply for a visa? Other countries just let you apply for it right there. Thai people have it set up that way to milk more money from stupid farangs that they see as money on legs. Idiots like you are the ones they shake for everything.

You are an example of what people should avoid doing and a reason why conditions are becoming stricter. You've been overly lucky, but certainly not blessed. If they decide to cross-check the application dates of your DTV with your stay in Thailand under visa exemption, you can say goodbye to your DTV.

Hopefully the IO sees you were in Thailand when the visa was issued. And cancels it 🙂

Well, the IO cannot see when exactly the application was submitted. There are cases where Embassy requests orig translations which delays the process by months.

Sean Jones what a complete loser and a donkey you’re. Living a miserable existence hoping and wishing for other people to fail. Why are you like this? Trying to pass yourself as a virtuous person is laughable. People like you are usually the types in Thailand sleeping with children hoping other foreigners don’t come here to stop you.

exit stamp and visa issue date might cause problems if noticed, but, does it say somewhere (official source) that you have to be outside Thailand when applying?

Yes, it is one of the main conditions to obtain the DTV. And you're right about the stamps (or stay history in the immigration system).

Answering myself, yea its obvious that he lied "current location" in the application, so that kinda makes the visa invalid and might even cause blacklisting if they are having a bad day at immigration 🤔
