Will my previous 6 months in Thailand affect my DTV application approval?

Hello everyone.

I have spent the last 6 months travelling around Thailand on 2 x 60 days visa exempt and 2 x 30 day extensions. I'm now planning to leave Thailand to apply for the DTV from a third country.

I usually work online but have NOT been doing so from Thailand as that's obviously against the rules and I was taking a break.

My question is, will the 6 months I've spent here make it more likely my DTV application be denied? Will the embassy assume I have been living/working here on a tourist visa? Has anyone had any problems like this?

I have the funds needed, is this sufficient to be accepted?

Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has spent 6 months in Thailand under visa exemptions and extensions and is concerned whether this duration will negatively impact their DTV visa application. The responses suggest that the length of stay is generally not a determining factor for visa applications, as immigration authorities can review entry history. Additionally, having sufficient funds is necessary, but applicants must also meet other specific requirements related to the type of visa they are applying for.

Soft power - but a Muy Thai class or Thai cooking class - then income/work is irrelevant. Have 500k in the bank account.

Immigration will see your full history on their computer on entry. It will be their decision alone to let you in.

Some people have switched from "retirement" visa and extensions which prohibits work to DTV without issues

Just having the funds is insufficient, you also need to satisfy the requirements for the category you apply under at the embassy you apply at.

The time you've spent in Thailand is not a factor of your visa application.
