Hi everyone, Hope you are having a good day.

Has anyone recently applied for the DTV visa in any of the neighboring countries around Thailand?

I would love to hear about your experiences and any tips that might help as I want to apply for it soon.

I've got 2 months left on my current visa so I'm not in a rush.

Thanks for reading.

Here is a real answer unlike many asses on here …. Recently Hanoi seems to be a good option. But in two months things may change just like in other neighboring countries. Seems some are getting stricter.

I just posted yesterday. Applied in Kota Bharu, Malaysia. Took quite long but no questions asked during the process. Got pulled aside for a conversation when I returned. But, in hindsight, that might have also been just because in that particular border crossing (Sunai Golok) a "farang" may be quite a rare sight among numerous Thais and Malaysians, and he might have just been thinking that I am one of the guys looking for consecutive 60 day visa exemption stamps... Anyway, after he found out that I have DTV, do not have any border bouncing history, and that he can talk to me in Thai, the conversation took quite a friendly turn and I was soon stamped in for my first 180 days on DTV.

There are so many " this was my experience posts' that you could search You are expecting a lot asking people to repost their success just so you don't have to do a search

what’s wrong with asking? I’m sure most people know how to use the search function, but there may also be members in this group who haven’t shared their recent success stories—and might be more willing to respond to a direct question like this.

Anonymous participant 601 nothing wrong with asking but it is lazy if there is already so much information available and you haven’t tried a simple search

your an absolute idiot, of course I've done research 🤣🤣

Everyone I've spoken to says different requirements at different embassies so it's good to hear directly from people.

You must really have a boring life that writing stupid comments on here gives you amusement.

and you are so rude I am not an idiot just letting you know why you may not get many responses 🤣

exactly, and it’s often

the same people repeating the same thing when people ask a similar question.. so annoying 🤦 I’m sure they get some kind of kick out of it..

I think it'll be helpful for you to have target countries or cities. For example, Hanoi still is one one of fastest (although they became stricter since I got my visa last month - March). Look into posts about Hanoi, HCMC, Jakarta and Manila. Best of luck!

Best not reply like that, or you won’t find many willing to part with their own experiences and help you 🤦🏻‍♀️

if the reply was about an experience I'd have no need to give that reply, why not just say nothing 🤦

best read through the forum, there is a lot of information to digest, some might be relevant, some of it not, no one can give proper advice, check with the Embassy you are planning to use for more accurate info which may help.
